Transcriber’s notes: The testator and his wife are mentioned in the will of Arthur Hopton of London, 1647. Martha was Arthur’s niece.
The testator was buried at St Faith’s-under-St Paul’s on 5 Oct 1649 (many citizen stationers lived in that parish – St Paul’s was on top of the site of the old St Faith’s, so parishioners used one of the cathedral’s side chapels) . The register says “Thomas Whittaker of PC the stat. ch. in Lambs Vault.”
