1831 census of Brightlingsea

Although not as useful to genealogists as the censuses from 1841 onwards, earlier censuses are still worth looking at when they have survived. Few have, but there is a particularly strong collection of pre-1841 census covering some Essex parishes, and they are held at ERO in Chelmsford. The 1831 census shows head of household and occupations.
